Bursitis

Mar 08, 2023

Bursitis is a condition that affects the bursae, which are small fluid-filled sacs that cushion the bones, tendons, and muscles near the joints. Bursae are located in areas of high friction, such as the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and heels that can become inflamed.

The inflammation is often due to overuse, but can also be from injury, infection, or medical conditions such as gout or rheumatoid arthritis. Common symptoms include pain, swelling, and tenderness around the affected joint, as well as difficulty with moving the joint.
