Johns Hopkins held a study which tracked over 6,000 people from the ages of 44 to 84 for more than 7 years. This study showed that those who made changes in their lifestyle including quitting smoking, following a new diet, getting regular exercise, and maintaining a healthy weight decreased their risk of death in the time period by 80 percent. Have you ever thought about the wear and tear your body goes through on a daily basis? To me, being a chiropractic practitioner, this is an interesting thought. Like many of you, nearly every day my body experiences varying degrees of stress and strain, over and above the normal forces that our body must deal with, like gravity, for example. Even if you sit at a desk all day, there are still stresses and forces at work on a continual basis that our bodies must react to and withstand in order for our bodies to function.
